Milan, Italy – The Salone del Mobile.Milano is looking ahead to the 2023 edition, which will be held in the Fiera Milano district in Rho from April 18 to 23. Also eagerly awaited is the return of Euroluce, the event dedicated to lighting design.
The collective Swiss Designers is excited to participate for the first time ever at world-renowned SaloneSatellite during Salone del Mobile at Fiera Milano RHO. The three pioneer designers, Fabian Bolliger, Laure Gremion and Ginger Zalaba, were chosen to represent the contemporary design scene of Switzerland. Kolb Bauhaus lightning revival
Zalaba Design’s award-winning Kolb collection is a modernisation of the Otto Kolb Bauhaus Classique’s. After moving to New York Kolb became friends with Mies Van der Rohr and Charles Eames. They are the pioneers of the American New Bauhaus movement.
During Milano Design Week 2023 Zalaba Design launches the Kolb lightning revival. Kolb’s Bauhaus lamp designs of the 50s manifest themself in joint and connection studies—the organic component of human limb function. The Kolb mobile ceiling lamp cones can be swivelled in numerous directions. Also the table lamp has a flexible lighting fixtures and becomes a wall lamp when hooked upside down to creating the perfect ambiance for any occasion. Each lamp provides direct and indirect ample lighting while also making a statement of modern design in any room.

Bauhaus Daughter
Ginger Zalaba graduated with a master’s degree in Exhibition Design from the Zurich University of the Arts. In addition, she studied Interior Design at IED Milan. At the young age of twenty-six, she became CEO of the Zurich-based family business Zalaba Design specializing in modern interior design and bespoke furniture production.
In honor of her grandfather – Bauhaus pioneer Otto Kolb – Zalaba took over his legacy with the ambition to modernize it and to bring back in vogue the Bauhaus style. The recovery of Kolb’s almost forgotten mid-century modern designs is perhaps one of the last Bauhaus furniture revivals. International exhibitions led to a collaboration with Walter Knoll and various design awards.
